RE: Are there any American made trailer tires?

Many will tell you about Maxxis, but they are actually mfg by the Cheng Shin Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd.
A few threads recently about blowouts on Coopers. Marathons have certainly had their problems. If you can afford them, look at Michilin or Brdgestone.

RE: Tire covers

I'm happy with CW tyre Gard (singles, not tandem) but stronly recommend that you buy them a little larger than your tire diameter.

RE: Weighing a new class A

Either at Flying J or CAT Scale. Pull up on scale to the push button located on the far left hand side of scale. Make sure axles are on separate scale sectons. Push button, wait for attendant to call back and tell attendant "first weight on private motor home" Wait about 20 seconds, pull off scale and go inside to get ticket.... about $8.50.

RE: tire temps

LR D's should be mantained at 65 psi. Have you weighed your 5'ver fully loaded? If so, what is the axle weight? Radials should be able to withstand the heat. You may need LR E's.

RE: Class C towing

Tow Bar.... $700 Blue Ox
Base Plates 400 Blue Ox
Brake Buddy 850 Brake Buddy
Light Kit 70
Total Parts $2050
Labor..
If the quote you got was for a complete system and a good tow bar, it's not that bad.

RE: Sprinter Chassis Doesn't Add Up

According to the spec sheet, towing capacity is 3,500 lbs."
"Trailer Hitch 3,500-lb. drawbar/350 lbs. maximum vertical tongue weight "
With a Navion, I don't think you would need to tow a toad.

Can you hear the compressor kick in, or does just the fan come on? Any kind of loud huming noise?

RE: mini van tow vehicle

Doesn't look like it. With 2 people in van plus luggage, max tow is 1800 lbs. Three to five people plus luggage in van, max tow is 1350 lbs.

RE: New and Confused

You may want to look at the Jay Feather line up... they weigh a lot less than the Flight line. You can find them on Jayco's web-site

RE: Bought a MH with outdated / damaged tires?

You should have included tire condition as part of your inspection process before you bought the rig. If you buy a used car, don't you look at the condition of the tires?

RE: Disposal of kitchen sink water with food in it??

scrape plates clean of food before washing and use one of the metal type sink stoppers that strains the water out but catches the food particles.

RE: Shower valve problem

If you have an outside shower or hand wash station, make sure they are shut off via the handles and not just the push button on the hand wand. Sometimes this creates wierd problems with water supplies.

RE: Outlet, Carbon Monoxide, and Outside Outlet, will not work

Your 120 volt outlets will be controled via circuit breakers not fuses. Check your circut breakers in the house breaker box. If ok, check your GFIC outlet..probably around bathroom or kitchen sink area...see if it tripped.

I believe the recall on ISL engines were 2006-2007 modles and involved a connecting rod and bearing issue.

For goodyear stores, see below. just fill in state, Oregon, and it will list all dealers in OR. Wingfoot is a good source for G670's.

RE: What to look for in electrical system when shopping new

On a Class A, 50 amp service, 8000 kw genset, 2000 watt inverter, and four coach 6 volt batteries and two 12 volt chassis batteries. One feature that has come out recently is the auto-start gen-set. If you are boondocking and batteries get low, gen-set automatically starts to charge batteries. Another feature is that you set ac unit for desired temp, and gen-set will start and allow ac to run. This is good if you are worried about pets in coach while you are out sightseeing.
